About Melblok

Hyper-pigmentation or the excess darkening of skin anywhere on the body either in the form of uneven skin tone, patches, spots, marks or freckles, is a problem that is widespread all over the world. People of Indian, Asian and African descent are especially prone to developing hyper-pigmentation in which Melanocytes, the cells that produce the pigment 'Melanin', become over-active and do not normalize on their own.

Noticing the widespread prevalence of this problem, Vital Clinic Private Limited, India’s premier cosmetic surgical clinic in New Delhi, started researching a treatment for hyperpigmentation that would treat the problem at the root cause. Believing that nothing is impossible and driven by the passion to help treat the problem, in 1997, Vital Clinic successfully completed its research by developing a breakthrough bio-active treatment for hyperpigmentation called “Melblok”. Melblok gave remarkable results by treating hyperpigmentation and also making skin younger and healthier. Due to its success, Melblok soon expanded and in the year 2000 became a registered brand of Vital Clinic. In the course of time, Melblok kept improving its treatment backed by constant research to develop the best ever Melblok.

Dr. Neeta Ratti, MBBS, MS

Dr. Neeta Ratti completed her MBBS from GSVM Medical College, Kanpur, India in 1976 and her MS in Gynecology from the same university in 1980. She worked for a year as the Clinical Demonstrator at the LLR Hospital, GSVM Medical College in Kanpur, India, and for 6 years as a Senior Consultant in the department of Obstetrics &Gynecology in Salauddin University Hospital, Tripoli, Libya. After acquiring an Interest in cosmetic gynecology having treated patients from over the world, Dr. Neeta returned to India, and co-founded Vital Clinic in New Delhi as a specialized clinic focusing on cosmetic surgical treatments. Having been a very early starter, Dr. Neeta Ratti became the first woman doctor in to practice Cosmetic Gynecology fulltime in India with specialty in Hymen repair/restoration, labiaplasty, vaginaplasty, etc. Under her leadership, Vital Clinic soon became the first ever clinic in India to offer a wide range of cosmetic surgery options to both men and women of all ages.

Dr. Neeta Ratti started the prestigious ‘Melblok’ program for the treatment of hyper-pigmentation. 14 years spear heading Melblok and its research, Melblok has become the leading treatment of Hyper-pigmentation in India.

Apart from her expertise in cosmetology Dr. Neeta Ratti is a member of several medical associations and an active member of the FICCI Ladies Organization, Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FLO-FICCI). Dr. Neeta is a regular participant in deliberations and conferences on issues relating to societal, communal and national reforms.

At Melblok, from her expertise in cosmetology, medical knowledge and as a co-founder of Melblok, Dr. Neeta consults patients on Hyper-pigmentation & other cosmetic treatments. She is known for diagnosing factors that are causative agents of hyperpigmentation taking into consideration clients’ medical conditions such as hormonal changes in women, drugs, medication and other physiological factors that can lead to hyper-pigmentation.

Dr J B Ratti, MBBS, MS

Dr. J.B. Ratti completed his MBBS from King George’s Medical College (KGMC), Lucknow in 1976 and his MS in Surgery from the same college in 1980. After completing his chief residency in the department of surgery in King George’s Medical College, Dr. J.B. Ratti worked in the department of Surgery in Lady Hardinge Medical College, New Delhi. In 1984 he was invited to join Salahuddin University Hospital, Tripoli, Libya where he worked as a Senior Consultant Surgeon for six years. Having gained extensive experience treating patients from various parts of the world, Dr. J.B. Ratti returned to India and in 1991 co-founded Vital Clinic Pvt. Ltd, focussing on Advanced Cosmetic surgeries. Specializing in Cosmetic Surgical treatments, Dr. Ratti is the first Cosmetic Surgeon in India to introduce Advanced Tumescent Liposuction, which is one of the safest techniques for Liposuction done totally under local anaesthesia. He is also the inventor and the first cosmetic surgeon in india to perform the most recent advancement in liposuction known as “High Definition Liposuction®”, a technique used for defining muscle mass.

Having presented widely acclaimed scientific papers on various techniques of cosmetic surgery, Dr. J.B. Ratti is not only an active member of several professional medical associations in India such as the Indian Medical Association, Association of Surgeons of India, Association of Physicians for Lasers in Surgery & Medicine and the All India Association for Advancing Research in Obesity, but also an active member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery. Patients from various nations travel to India to be operated by Dr. Ratti for his repute as the pioneer of cosmetic surgery in India.

Apart from his enthusiasm and excellence in cosmetic surgery, Dr. J.B. Ratti takes interest in reform work encompassing various social, community and environment protection issues. He has also been a distinguished member of ‘Rotary International’ wherein he has held multiple Presidencies and had also founded the Rotary Club of South Extension, New Delhi as a part of several community service projects he has headed.

Karan completed his Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) degree in Biotechnology from Amity University, India and his Masters of Science (MS) degree in Biology from New York University, NY.

While in India, Karan has worked at the Organ Retrieval and Banking Organization (ORBO) of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi; the department of Molecular Biology at the Institute of Genomics and Integrative Biology (IGIB), New Delhi; as well as in the department of Research and Development & Analytical and Formulation at Biocon Limited, Bangalore, where he researched in the fields of Stem Cell biology, molecular biology and downstream processing respectively. While in New York, in addition to his studies in both the Graduate School of Arts & Science as well as the NYU Stern School of Business, Karan held the position of an Adjunct Instructor of Undergraduate Genetics at the College of Arts and Science in New York University. He also worked in the Department of Dermatology and Cell biology at the NYU Langone Medical Center and was awarded a distinguished research thesis for his work there in uncovering the role of signalling mechanisms governing adult hair formation.

For his specialization in Dermatology and Cell biology, Karan Ratti joined Vital Clinic as a Research Scientist and assumed the position of Director of the Melblok program in July 2011.

Melblok Center

The Melblok Centre is exclusively located in one of the most accessible and central areas of New Delhi, “South Extension-2”. In order to eliminate waiting time, the centre is designed to accommodate 36 sessions in one full working day. The centre has 7 treatment stations including 6 for treating common areas of the body such as the face, neck, upper chest and arms, and 1 bed station for treating areas such as the back, whole chest, under-arms, legs, etc.The treatments are performed by technicians that are skilled in administering the Melblok Centre treatment effectively.
